Recruiting Feasters!

We are always looking for well presented, energetic, enthusiastic and reliable team members to join and further strengthen our existing team of 'Feasters' both front of house and in our kitchen.

Front of house, you will be undertaking canapé and plated food service and for employees over the age of 18, drinks and wine service opportunities exist too. We regularly have prep shifts in our kitchen too, as well as on site in our kitchen, where-ever that may be!

The 'thank you' cards continue to arrive

The season of weddings is now in full swing and we've already been to some fantastic venues to cater for our wonderful clients. Quite apart from the excitement of the day and the sheer thrill of seeing an event through to completion, we absolutely love to receive hand written thank you notes after the big day itself. We've posted a number on our testimonials page, but this is an extract from a very happy Mother of the Bride earlier this month:-

Local Business Women raise over £7000 for the Animal Health Trust by running the Virgin London Marathon 2014

Sisters-in-law Julia Baldwin of Synergy Systems and Helen Cain of The Movable Feast ran the London Marathon in April 2014 and in doing so raised over £7000 for the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket.

Bitten by the running bug early in 2013, the duo went on to complete a number of races before the 'big one' earlier this month. What started as an invitation to run a 10k race in March 2013 for a friend’s birthday turned into quite an adventure!

MF named as The East of England Regional Winners for Best Wedding Caterer, in The 2013 Wedding Industry Awards

We are delighted to announce that we have recently been named as Regional Winners for Best Wedding Caterer in the East of England, in the 2013 Wedding Industry Awards.

The award is all the more special as only wedding couples are eligible to vote and provide feedback about their catering experience. We have been thrilled to read through our feedback and scores, which have been incredibly complementary and shall be treasured very carefully!

We are thrilled to officially launch our Feaster Food Days, which will be held here at Bull House in Stowlangtoft.

In small groups of eight the day starts with home-made cookies & coffee before you pop on your apron for cooking under Justin's expert guidance. Then the hard task of a delicious two-course late lunch with wines has to be tackled!

Feast Top Tip #1 - Be Present!

Our most regularly repeated words of advice are to 'take time to soak it up', 'be present on your big day' and 'breathe!'.

We know more than most the importance of planning, lists, getting the small details just right and just how important it is for your big day to run smoothly without worry. But it's also vital to let go of forward thinking and worrying about what you think is or maybe going to happen - both in the planning process and on the big day itself. So much more helpful is to bring it back to the here and now - and be grateful, enjoy and savour this very moment.

Part of our role as event managers is to work with you to build in time for just that on your big day. We'll plan in time for you to spend a moment together soaking it up, just the two of you, taking a mental image and breathing the day in. Being present in each other's company, rejoicing in the moment and leaving the planning to us!

We think about much more than simply the service of your (all be them delicious) canapes, wedding breakfast and evening snacks. Talk to us about how we can help your day run smoothly, leaving you to focus on the moments that matters. We are caterers first and formally, but event planners just as importantly.

Feast Top Tip #2 - It's ok to ask for help!

No one said you had to manage your whole wedding day yourself. It’s perhaps something you’re telling yourself though? That only you have the complete picture, know exactly how everything is meant to be? But that’s all it is, a repeating thought spinning in and out of consciousness and that can be changed. You are not super-human and you certainly don’t have to spend these important last few weeks worrying rather than celebrating your forthcoming marriage. How about sharing the load? With someone you can trust and who knows a thing or two about wedding days? Someone who can take all your carefully made plans and tie them together into the dream wedding you have in mind?

Here at Feast HQ, we help plan and manage numerous big days every year, usually from a caterer’s point of view. We’ve been in the wedding industry as Feast for 20 years now and we have plenty of experience of on-the-day co-ordination: liaising with venues, quartets, singers, bands, DJs, photographers, photobooths, bars - drinks or glitter!, other suppliers…. you get the picture.
